If anyone in your house is into the bespectacled wizard known as Harry Harry Potter, then you’ll no doubt have a selection of books chronicling his years at Hogwarts School, you may even have a couple of wands lying around but you won’t have anything quite like this!

This beautifully crafted gizmo looks like something straight out of Diagon Alley and can control your telly, Sky digibox, Stereo or indeed any other infa-red device with an abracadabra swish of the wrist.

Totally button free simply swish, whirl and flick your wand, which can ‘learn’ up to 13 different codes from your existing remote controls and transform them into one of your very own 13 predefined gestures.

It may not exactly be magic, but we’ve yet to see Harry what’s his socks Potter use his wand to silence Katie Price on Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, or series link Eastenders!

As if a muggle being able to perform magic wasn’t brilliant enough, the Magic Wand Remote also features a ‘heartbeat’ like a real Harry Potter wand in the form of various pulses that confirm gesture recognition and tell you when batteries are low.

It’s difficult to emphasise how much fun this is, and how cool the effect is when you’re merrily commanding all and sundry around you. The Hi-Fi, the TV, the computer, the lights (if you’re fancy enough to have remote control lights), anything that needs flicking on or off in the room can be controlled by a wave of your wand.

Gorgeously packaged in a faux-dragon skin presentation box with chinese silk inlay, the Wand is set to become the remote control of choice for any gadgeteer with Potter-esque aspirations. So don’t be a Muggle, with giftaholic.co.uk comparing prices to find you the cheapest prices on totally wizard gadgets its time to get ordering!

Memory sticks may be getting smaller and smaller but thanks to a combination of Lego and modern technology they’ve definitely got a whole lot cooler!

The average usb memory stick is so boring that they’re almost as snooze worthy as the computer geek who can reel off the stats of how fast the data transfers to your computer or how many million billion gigabits it holds, when all you really want to know is how much of your music collection will it hold while still allowing space for that presentation you’ve been working on for weeks!

So what is the answer, well the Lego brick USB stick of course, bringing together building bricks and a usb stick, genius!

With a choice of three different colours and 2 different sizes (2gb and 4gb) you can snap them together and build your own usb stick Lego toy, or if one is enough for you then you can even attach it to real Lego bricks, so really the fun you can have is limited only by your imagination. Just think your own Star Wars or Indiana Jones Lego character usb stick, now wouldn’t that be cool!

Whatever you do just don’t drop it in a bucket of Lego or you’ll never find it again as the usb bit is clevery locked away inside the brick and you’ll end up trying to open lego bricks all day long.

But never fear because it comes with a lanyard and keyring to prevent such mishaps, i mean everyone has a bucket of lego just sitting around don’t they?

Here at Giftaholic.co.uk we think this is one of the coolest solutions to data storage that there is going, especially if you grew up in the 80s like us and love these retro twists on modern gadgets. So what you waiting for, get building those memory bricks.

“Energy Efficiency”, “Carbon Footprint”, “Green”, “Eco Friendly”. Just a few of the eco buzz words being thrown around by people like Al gore.

But while the Inconvenient truth maybe that the earth is cooking itself while world leaders have meetings to discuss the meetings to talk about the committees designed to reduce our impact on the world, the convenient truth is that there is something simple you can do while Politician’s procrastinate us into the next ice age.

No, this does not involve separating your household waste into seventeen different dustbins, or turning all the heating off and living by candle light to save on heating and energy bills. What it does involve is potentially <span="green_light">saving £50 a year for the simple click of the button.

This button is not just any button, no, it’s the Eco Button, and one small click can make one BIG difference. The eco button sits on your desk and plugs into your usb port, and when pressed puts your computer into a special ‘ecomode’.

The ecomode is the most efficient, lowest power mode available, which actually draws only the same amount of power as when the computer and monitor are turned off! When you need to use the computer again, simply press any key to instantly return to where you left off. Easy!

One third or more of the energy used on a PC and monitor is wasted, so next time you need to go pee, make a cup of tea, or an take an important phone call from Al Gore about how your saving the planet one click at a time then just hit the eco button.

When you wake your computer back up with the touch of any button, everything will be just as you left it, the eco button will tell you how much CO2 you’ve saved, and even how much money you’ve saved while you’ve had it in eco standby. It keeps a running tally too, so that you can monitor the total amount of money saved and C02 offset, so you know when you can fly off on holiday, guilt free without having to buy a Scandinavian forest.

So only one question remains, <span="green_light">why wouldn’t you buy this eco button? It’s eco friendly, it saves you money, and it saves you the inconvenience of ever having to shut down and boot up your computer (which actually takes more energy than leaving it in ecomode). Plus you get to be a eco super hero, saving the world one click at a time!

In fact the only good reason for not ordering one today is if you own a Mac, as unfortunately this wonderful money saving device is only compatible with Windows computers.

Everyone loves TV. Fact. Everyone loves Sci-Fi. Fact. Ok, not everyone, but it does seem to make a lot of people dress up and stand in line for the premier of films for what seems like seven years before they’re even filmed.

This amazing little ray gun, is so fantastically 50′s it’s brilliant. From a time where special effects were bad, the acting was rubbish, and the budgets were small, but hey that’s why we loved them. We all know Star-wars was way better when the world hadn’t quite got the hang of computers much less special effects.

Fashioned to look like one those ridiculous ray guns from a bad straight to tv movie, this TV remote not only changes the volume or channels on your television but also makes a “Pe-chaow!” when you pull the trigger! How brilliant is that!

Take me to your tv

Compatiable with most TV’s this battery operated ray gun remote can be programmed to perform one function at a time, although sadly transmogrifying aliens in to a puddle of goop or banishing a dark lord to another dimension are a little beyond it’s real life capabilities.

However, you are only limited by your imagination, so if you fancy playing out your sci-fi fantasy round the house, or hiding behind the sofa during Doctor Who while beating the Daleks into oblivion, then you should buy this now before they take over the world.

That by the way is a command from the Supreme Overlord of the planet Zerninion, who feels it just wouldn’t be a fair fight otherwise. Or you could just use it to turn on Eastenders.
