The red furry figure of Elmo is instantly recognisable to generations of children all round the world, possibly the most famous character to ever come out of Sesame Street since Kermit the Frog. He is a timeless classic and since his creation in the early 70s not content with merely being the star of his own TV show he has also been in two movies.
Taking interaction to new levels of hi-tech bonkersness, at first glance he looks like any other number of Elmo Dolls, with his distinctive red fur and big eyes, but get a little closer, and you realise this is one of the most ingenious interactive toddler toys ever. This fuzzy fella plays games, tells jokes and stories, sings, dances and even responds to touch. Enough to keep your average toddler or University student amused for hours, if your lucky he might even ask you to come closer for a hug or kiss.
It’s just like having Sesame Street come alive in your living room, we swear if he wasn’t covered in silly red fur you’d almost think he was real.
